Early Morning in the Desert

It’s 5 in the morning and I’ve already been up for an hour.   What’s a guy to do?  You can try to go back to sleep or you can do what I do and take a short little hike on a favorite local trail (Apache Wash) and see the sunrise.

It’s monsoon season again in the Phoenix.  Time for the desert to be a little more humid (sad face) and for late afternoon micro-bursts of rain to happen in random places throughout the valley (or not – the skies do like to tease us).

But the benefit for those of us that hike (and up early), is we get to enjoy some remarkable sunrises.

It’s nice to see the desert start to come alive a bit.  Except maybe the swarm of mosquitoes that found me to be the first mammal they’ve ever come across. We’ve needed the rain here for some time, and everything is look a lot less “brown”.

Don’t forget to take the time to enjoy what we have around us.  There are a lot of wonderful things to see.  But remember there are “No Guardrails”!
