Grand Canyon’s North Rim – Better Late than Never

The visit to the North Rim happened the end of August. I was in a different place back then when it came to blogging and sharing in 2020. I’m not sure exactly where that place was – I’m guessing somewhere in the suburbs of Lost My Passion, USA. I’m definitely a different person than I was this time last year. Let’s just say “Motivational Speaker” stopped being a career option (if it ever was).

The stay on the North Rim was supposed to be the final leg of a hike across the canyon with my brother and some long-time friends. This included an stay at Phantom Ranch down below. It had been planned and booked more than a year prior and COVID wiped it out. Luckily, we were able to keep the cabin stay for a night – but much of the party couldn’t make it.

I did have a long conversation with this Raven.

And though the North Rim doesn’t have all the amenities of the South – including much less views along the rim, it is well worth spending a day there. And as it is a bit out of the way, spending a night there is even better.

Down the Kaibab Trail

I was traveling back to Phoenix alone, so made the best of the route (and small detour) to stop and look around.

Love me a big Boulder!
